A Portal for Life and Kinship

ROOTS of Sabr
Roots of Sabr is a platform for direct support and story-sharing between Gazan families and global allies. Rooted in the Arabic word sabr صبر —which means patient endurance in the face of suffering—we aim to provide support to those who carry the soul of Gaza through family, labor, parenthood, memory, and survival. This is not charity. This is kinship. Every contribution is a root that holds a life in place.
🌱Donations are made through crowdfunding sites like GoFundMe.
Your contribution goes directly to the family in need.
The situation in Gaza is dire but a small donation goes a long way.
🇵🇸 If you can, please support a family or individual below that you resonant with. 🌿

Alaa Hashem
I am Alaa from Gharra, an orphan with no father. I am 21 years old.
I am the breadwinner in the family after the death of my father.
My mother suffers from high blood pressure and I have not been able to buy her medicine due to lack of money. I have 8 younger siblings and we have no income from any source. We live in a tent on the street and the tent is made of cloth.For days I have not been able to provide food for my family due to the high prices.
We live in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood and our area is a dangerous combat zone. We suffer from living in tents because of the intense heat and the widespread harmful insects. I have an injured brother who needs treatment and I cannot provide the money to buy the necessary medicine for him and to meet my family’s needs.

Mohammed Shahada
My name is Mohammed Abu Shahada from Gaza City, Palestine.I have been living under the difficult conditions that Gaza has been experiencing for many months. I am the head of a small family of three, including my young daughter, Seela. We have been displaced more than once and have been displaced repeatedly. I face indescribable challenges daily due to the ongoing blockade, aggression, high prices, and the lack of the most basic necessities of life and basic human rights.I am an ambitious person, despite all the pain. I dream of having a voice through which to convey the suffering of the people of Gaza to the world, and of realizing my dream of establishing my own business in marketing and e-commerce and opening my own online store, which requires some money.However, today I live without a steady income, have accumulated debts due to the high cost of living, and struggle to provide food and drink for my family.
I ask for your help to:
✓ provide food and drink for my family;
✓ pay off my debts, which I have accumulated due to high prices and the catastrophic situation in Gaza;
✓ fulfill my dream of starting my own business and generating income to provide a dignified life worthy of my humanity and that of my daughter;
✓ buy a new, better phone to replace my worn-out one, so I can document people's suffering and share life stories from the heart of Gaza.

Alaa Hemaid
Alaa lives with their mother, Hanadi, and two younger sisters, Faten and Lama. Their father, Osama, passed away six months ago from stomach cancer. Because of the war, he couldn’t get the treatment, medicine, or even proper food he needed. His health slowly got worse until he weighed just 30 kilograms before he passed.Since then, Hanadi has been doing everything she can to take care of her children, but it’s just too much. Both Alaa and Faten have university degrees—one in Accounting, the other in Software Development—but jobs in Gaza are impossible to find. Lama, the youngest, had to leave school because of the war. Every day is a struggle just to survive.They need financial help just to purchase a basic meal of lentils or flour.
